We have worked with Legrand on a number of recent projects and have always found them to be an ideal partner, both in terms of the perfect synergy between our products and the high quality of solutions and services offered
Electrak and Zucchini busbar-based solutions from Legrand have been used to distribute power through Block 3 of the £135 million Mann Island development at Liverpool’s Pier Head – a World Heritage Site on the banks of the Mersey.
The 13,500 capacity venue is aimed at bringing the very best in entertainment to Leeds city centre, with the Arena’s operators intending to host over 140 events a year covering everything from pop and rock through to boxing, wrestling and even darts.
Legrand secured the specification as a result of its Zucchini busbar and transformers perfectly complementing the switchboard solutions of specifier, GR Electrical Services.
Steve Shepherd, sales director of GR Electrical Services, said: “We have worked with Legrand on a number of recent projects and have always found them to be an ideal partner, both in terms of the perfect synergy between our products and the high quality of solutions and services offered.
“Of particular note in this instance is the Zucchini 3D modelling software, which enabled us to quickly and easily design and plan the entire power distribution system.”
Zucchini’s PSZ 3D modelling software has proven to be an exceptionally popular addition to its service portfolio since its launch in 2012.
Steve Marr, marketing manager for Legrand’s Zucchini range, said: “The use of digital 3D modelling is growing at an astonishing rate and it’s imperative for those wishing to remain at the forefront of specifiers’ minds to not just offer high quality products and service, but also support it with software that is simple to use and improves the speed and accuracy of the design process.”
Zucchini EdM cast resin transformers provide a reliable solution for a vast range of applications, from power distribution and production through to power rectification and traction. The absence of inflammable insulating liquids and the use of self-extinguishing materials mean they are safer than traditional transformers. Furthermore, their low noise levels and low electromagnetic emissions combine to present a solution that is also environmentally friendly.
Zucchini SCP high power busbar offers exceptional versatility and can be used to transport and distribute high power from 630 to 6,300A. The system’s compact dimensions enhance its resistance to short circuit stresses, while Voltage drops can be controlled to reduce the impedance of the circuit and enable installation of high power electrical systems in confined spaces.
Zucchini MR medium rating busbar is available in sizes from 160 to 1,000A and can be supplied with aluminium or copper conductors. It has a large range of tap-off boxes from 16 to 1000 A, which allows the supply and protection of a wide range of loads using different devices such as fuses, MCBs and MCCBs.
Zucchini busbar and transformers are product ranges offered by Legrand’s power distribution business unit, which also includes Electrak underfloor to workstation power distribution systems and lighting control solutions.
