Matt Crunden
Training & BIM Manager
Hi, I’m Matt Crunden. I have been working in the electrical industry for over 35 years, 25 of which working for Legrand Electric Ltd. After working as Legrand’s Major Projects Manager for several years, my passion for learning and teaching others lead me to my current role, Training and BIM Manager, a post I have held since 2013.
I have been recognised by the construction industry for my commitment to digital transformation throughout the sector and I am an active member of several industry working groups such as bsi B/555, CEN TC/442, and I’m the current Treasurer for CIBSE's Society of Digital Engineering. In addition, I am also a STEM Ambassador supporting and engaging with young people making life and career choices.
Outside of the work environment, I have been involved in the Martial Arts for over 35 years and have taught traditional Lau Gar Kung Fu and other forms of self-defence to many students over the years. Finally, I’m proud to say I am a fully qualified chef, holding certification in traditional French cookery.
James Wallace
National Specification Manager
Hi I’m Jim Wallace. My role is National Specification Manager, which is a very fancy way of saying I look after the consultants across the UK. I have over 30 years of experience in lighting control, switchboards and UPS and have worked as an electrical engineer and within electrical wholesale. While I visit consultants and discuss designs, product solutions, we also discuss our ever-changing industry, while keeping updated on the latest regulation impacts for controls.
As my role involves being away from home a lot, this helps keep my wife happy, as I’m trying to learn guitar and discovered I have 10 thumbs!
Andrew Papworth
National Contractors & Modular Build Manager
Hi, I'm Andrew Papworth. My role with Legrand is to deal with all tier 1 electrical contractors and modular build companies throughout the UK. I am a time qualified electrician and worked on a lot of large commercial projects throughout the UK for 19 years. I then became a sales rep for an electrical wholesaler later becoming a branch manager. A change in direction saw me return to electrical contracting until the lighting control game came calling - as they say the rest is history.
In my spare time you will find me watching my boys playing football at the weekends and when I am allowed have a few rounds of golf.
