Legrand’s cable management range achieves ‘Fit For Nuclear’ status
Legrand UK & Ireland has been certified as ‘Fit For Nuclear’ for a number of products in its cable management range, following a detailed assessment process by the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC).
Developed by the Nuclear AMRC, Fit For Nuclear (F4N) provides a benchmark for manufacturers to measure against to ensure they meet the standards required to supply the civil nuclear industry, specifically in areas of new build, operations and decommissioning.
Legrand has extensive experience in supplying the UK nuclear industry to date, and has enjoyed particular success with its Swifts range of cable ladders and trays. The company’s route to achieving the national accreditation involved various stages, including nuclear capability assessments, site verification visits and a detailed action plan and programme review, before being granted F4N status.
Chris Davies, Business Development Manager PP&M for the UK and Northern Europe at Legrand, comments: “Receiving F4N supplier status is a great achievement for us and it will be an invaluable asset when it comes to bidding for work in the civil nuclear sector. With the UK’s nuclear sector set to play a significant role in the government’s Industrial Strategy, there will be high demand for UK-manufactured components for both nuclear plant construction and operation, as well as for decommissioning. Initiatives such as F4N are vital to ensure manufacturers in the UK like Legrand are well-equipped to gain work in what can be a diverse and challenging market.”
