Back-office
Back-offices can be used for a variety of different tasks and job functions and therefore consideration is needed for all the different types of users that may occupy these spaces. Sections of office space may be used frequently due to members of staff such as finance teams and administration teams permanently based within this space, however, other areas of the office many be used infrequently such as meeting rooms or break out rooms for marking and lesson planning.

Lighting control
With some areas utilised more that others it is logical to install presence detectors into the busy parts of the space. It may be worth considering using presence detectors that can adjust the lighting according to the amount of natural light available. Within less utilised areas, absence detection would be a suitable option as lights can only be switched on using a manual switch, this will avoid the lights coming on unnecessarily if someone passes the room or only enters for a few seconds to collect something.
