Legrand launches Atlantic - a versatile and robust range of metal enclosures

Legrand, the global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures, has launched a range of IP66 metal enclosures called Atlantic – providing a new customisable solution for commercial and industrial applications that is adaptable, weatherproof and impact resistant.

Designed to meet the needs of a variety of applications, from office buildings to shopping centres and even camp sites, the weatherproof metal enclosures come in a range of sizes and with plain and glass door options.

Available in three formats; vertical, square and horizontal, Atlantic IP66 enclosure feature a weatherproof seal and double bar lock as standard, ensuring effective closing and a watertight polyurethane seal. The enclosures also feature a reversible door, with easy to remove metal hinges and pins, as well as a high performance anti-corrosion coating to provide strength that is guaranteed to last.  For easy access, the door has been designed to open to 130o (180 o options also available) and contains sectioned uprights for greater rigidity, as well as making it much simpler to mount equipment and manage cables.

Providing maximum usable space, the plain door version is supplied with a removable plate making it easier to fix equipment directly, but these can also be replaced by a ready to use chassis or perforated plates. For increased versatility, the enclosure can also be equipped with cable glands or a Cabstop plate – offering optimised cable entry and a minimum tensile resistance of 15kg, for ease and speed of cable installation.

Charlene Loriot, Marketing Manager for Legrand UK and Ireland’s industrial range said: “Designed to be versatile, Atlantic IP66 metal enclosures offer a scalable, modular solution for a wide variety of market sectors. What’s more, if customers wish to tailor their enclosure to their environment, we can powder coat both the enclosure itself and the wall mounting lugs in up to 180 finishes. We also offer a fitting service in which customers can specify the exact accessories required inside the enclosure, and it will be delivered to site fully populated and ready for installation.”

In addition, the Atlantic IP66 metal range is accompanied by Legrand’s popular Atlantic stainless steel range of enclosures, delivering excellent resistance to corrosion and chemicals. As a result, the range is ideally suited to harsh environments and those requiring rigorous hygiene standards – such as the food and beverage industry – or in corrosive environments, such as the water treatment or chemical industries.

Legrand also offers a range of Marina GRP enclosures that are suitable for saline atmospheres or other corrosive environments.

Concluding, Charlene Loriot at Legrand said: “All of Legrand’s enclosures have been designed with our customers in mind, right from specification to installation and day-to-day use. We understand the demands placed on electrical infrastructure within a broad range of environments. For our customers, that means that the safety and integrity of our products can be assured.”

Legrand offers a range of equipment including terminal blocks, transformers, time switches and cable ducting for enclosures – offering further flexibility for end users.
